As a follow-up to last week’s post, I’m gratified to share the incredible outcome of a special back-to-school community service and volunteer effort. Right Choice Construction did its part to get backpacks and school supplies into the hands of students, along with hundreds of volunteers.

Right Choice is all about community service and giving back to the city we love. Houston Children’s Charity and its Back2School Drive are important initiatives we support. My hope is that our volunteer efforts inspire others to step up, step out, and make a difference.
We met for breakfast on Saturday, August 3, to gear up for our 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. shift.
Community Service: Why Volunteer?
Imagine a world where children receive the resources they need to be successful. In this economy, many parents are stretched to buy groceries, let alone back-to-school supplies for their children. Community service is an investment in our future. Our efforts benefit the people we care about, who are often vulnerable.
It was a great day today working with Rod Ryan and 94.5 the Buzz handing out backpacks to our Houston families! ABC 13 covered the back-to-school event with footage of our team hard at work (0.52 mark).
“HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Tens of thousands of backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to children at various school supply drives on Saturday. At the Houston Children’s Charity drive, 3,500 backpacks were handed out. Since 2005, the group said it’s supplied low-income children with 46,000 backpacks.”
