If you are a woman in the trades, finding time to volunteer can sometimes be a challenge. But when it comes to children in need, the extra motivation is there. Fortunately, my entire Right Choice Construction team supports Houston Children’s Charity and will be participating in its Back2School Drive on Saturday, August 3, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Welcome to Development with Danielle©, my weekly “Women in Construction” blog

What an honor to help this amazing organization that is now 25 years strong. Our team mission this Saturday is to help Houston Children’s Charity reach the youngest and most vulnerable among us with much-needed school supplies.

According to Houston Children’s Charity:

Back2School program has been paving the road for success for under-served children in Houston since 2005. Beginning with just one school district, our program now encompasses a number of independent school districts and charter schools across 5 counties. Overall, this annual project has helped more than 46,000 children.

We truly believe that an investment in our students is an investment in our future. All children, regardless of their socio-economic status, should walk into school, on day one, with a backpack and the basic supplies needed to succeed. Thanks to our partnership with The Rod Ryan Show for the past 15 years, this program provides thousands of school-aged children with the foundation for academic success.
